Armenthia Carr is an award-winning Master Educator, beauty business mentor, and multi-state licensed esthetician with over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry. Licensed in both Arkansas and Illinois, Armenthia has taught and mentored thousands of beauty professionals through dynamic classes, advanced training programs, one-on-one coaching, and state board preparation.
She is the 2026 ASCP Esthetician of the Year and a contributing author for the upcoming Milady Esthetics, 13th Edition, further solidifying her influence and leadership within the industry. Armenthia launched the first esthetics program at Paul Mitchell the School Little Rock and has played a vital role in helping multiple esthetics schools open, grow, and thrive.

Too often, training programs skim over the needs of skin of color, and this leads to misdiagnosis, mistreatment, or hesitation in providing services. This session focuses on breaking down the science behind melanin, the inflammatory response, and why hyperpigmentation, acne, and sensitivity show up differently in darker skin tones.
Learn safe and effective treatment strategies, including which modalities and ingredients work best—and which to avoid—to protect the skin barrier and prevent damage.
